Day 1: Auckland to Singapore – Sun 18 August, 2024
And they’re off!!! Our group are on their way to Singapore for a quick stop before carrying onto Africa…..
Day 2: Inflight – Mon 19 August, 2024
Our stopover in Singapore on our way to Africa was a welcome resting spot.
Gardens by the Bay had a magnificent Monet exhibition in the Flower dome. Amazing!
Day 3: Victoria Falls – Tue 20 August, 2024
What a beautiful welcome to Africa!

Day 4: Victoria Falls – Wed 21 August, 2024
This morning, we walked the Zambian side of Victoria Falls, passed a huge herd of elephants just by the road on our way there. Watched hippos from the riverside infinity pool & took a beautifully peaceful Zambezi Sunset River cruise this evening.
A wonderful first day in this amazing continent….

Day 7: Train: Matobo National Park – Sat 24 August, 2024
Day 7 of our Southern Africa Train journey:
Matobo National Park- walking safari to see 3 Rhino teenagers .. resting in the shade of a too small bush.
Bushman acid etchings from thousands of years ago & still so vivid. Walked up to Cecil John Rhodes grave site on the hill of benevolent spirits…. Another fabulous day in Africa!
Day 8: Train: Antelope Park – Sun 25 August, 2024
Day 8 Antelope Park: Just a couple of adventures you can choose to do here.

Horse riding safari where we saw Giraffe, Zebra, Impala & and beautiful Fish Eagle. The wildlife are very happy to let the horses come close to them. A special tranquil experience.
Day 9: Train: Great Zimbabwe Monument – Mon 26 August, 2024
Day 9: Great Zimbabwe Monument… The largest man made monument South of the Egyptian Pyramids.
A bit of a walk up but a great view once you get there! 
… or there is always the option to enjoy the view from below!
Day 10: Train: Limpopo Province – Tue 27 August, 2024
Today we had a day on board as the train traverses Limpopo.
Day 11: Train: Kapama Reserve – Wed 28 August, 2024
Day 11: Kapama Private Game Reserve & Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre.
Day 12: Train: Eswatini – Thu 29 August, 2024
Day 12: Eswatini & their delightful, happy, athletic, beautiful singing cultural group.
Day 13: Train: Maputo, Mozambique – Fri 30 August, 2024
Day 13: Mozambique on a rainy day & the beautiful fresh food market sellers…. Plus a few dripping wet fruit bats!
Day 14: Train: Kruger National Park – Sat 31 August, 2024
Day 14: Kruger National Park- all day Safari & some of the beautiful animals and birds we saw.
Day 15: Train: Panorama Route – Sun 1 September, 2024
Panorama Route – Including Bourke’s Luck Pothole canon & Graskop Gorge… such different environments to be immersed in from where we have already traveled.
Day 16: Pretoria – Mon 2 September, 2024 – Final Day before flying home
