Jenni was excellent. She exceeded our expectations. Very friendly, helpful and she did a wonderful job, with a smile on her face all the time. A pleasure to travel with.
I am now finding it incredible that we covered so much, and saw many amazing places and things. The variety of the landscapes, cultures, architecture made this a very interesting trip
We were so lucky with the weather, it was was perfect. You arranged that well!!!
Well organised walk and amazing scenery. The group we travelled with were well matched and we all got on exceedingly well. Everyday for me was a highlight.
We loved the variety of the biking. Everyday was different. The hills meant we got up on top and got great views of the countryside. Being farming people we loved the time of the year and seeing all the paddocks ready for harvest. The local guides were great and we enjoyed all those walking tours.
Loved the itinerary first time for me so everything was new and interesting.
The Tours Direct Leader ‘Mandy’ was excellent – her friendly outgoing disposition made it very easy to approach her – she went beyond her ‘tour of duty’ as she always made herself available at all times – she was so ‘gallant’ being the ‘tail end Charlie’ everyday when cycling, always encouraging and patient for those of us who required a little further ‘nurturing’ with ebiking! She was always well organised and totally prepared which made our journey so much more relaxing and enjoyable!
Hiroshima, a standout city and experience not to be missed. Even though we come from a thermal country the hot springs in Beppu were spectacular. Needs more time in Tokyo to give it justice.
There were so many highlights! The villages, the scenery, the food, the wine and all things French. We were lucky that we were a very happy fun-loving group and everyone got on.
For me every moment was a ‘highlight’ – the ‘journey’ thoroughly exceeded my expectations!
Very well organised. We were very happy with everything from go to whoa.
Helen was great, never appeared hassled although she must have felt it at times. Always clear with instructions and showed concern for each of the group and very willing to sort any problems. Really well prepared and organised..
Everything really, but staying in Rocamadour was special and riding up the final hill Le Puy Mary on the last day was amazing as it was in the Tour de France 2020. The meal at Hotel de la Terrasse in Vieillevie was amazing and so unexpected. Weather was perfect for biking. Meeting and getting to know our fellow bikers.
Mandy was outstanding in every way. Always efficient and helpful and set a very positive tone for the whole trip! It was a pleasure to travel with such a gifted leader!
We saw and experienced so much and not only the major highlights. All the extras made the tour for me.
Top for me would be the Simien Mountains and Lalibela, but of course there were other interesting destinations/activities too – Blue Nile Falls and Lake Tana, the procession at the cathedral in Aksum, the Cookery School, the drives through the countryside…..A fascinating and interesting country.
Full and very interesting! Nice to stay more than a night in the forests and have time to get to know a place and it’s wildlife and people. Great balance!
This was a magnificent tour which exceeded my expectations in many respects. Thank you for the wonderful experiences which I will relive for many years to come.
Good mix. Good to see animals but also the other crafts etc – aluminium, silk, boat building, paper making.
Excellent. Up there as one of the best tours I have ever done.
I was excited about the itinerary. I really liked the mix/balance of historical and wildlife destinations
Jenni was great. I always felt comfortable and confident in her hands. She has reignited my enthusiasm for travel(and she encouraged me to try snorkeling, which was lots of fun!).I really hope to travel with her again.
I have every confidence with Tours Direct and would like to consider touring with them again
Yes, more than met my expectations. Appreciated Mandy’s concern for tour members and willingness to help and resolve any issues.
The lemurs in Andasibe in the north, and Isalo National Park where our guide, Roland, was outstanding. He explained the wildlife, found scorpions for us and described the local burial traditions.
Lemurs! The other people on the tour. The visits to craft places. Walking in the forests.
We loved Salzburg and were intrigued with Cesky Krumlov. The biking was fantastic.
Copenhagen and the Fjords. They were magic.
Mandy was her usual wonderful self who always has excactly what you need, including Panadol or icecreams……
Brilliantly organized, so love the small groups. Outstanding Tour leader Helen Tait
We saw and experienced so much and not only the major highlights. All the extras made the tour for me.
Mandy is wonder woman. So patient, so caring, so capable. Always went the extra mile and had a stock of ‘plans B’ for all events
Janet did an excellent job. This was especially shown in the circumstances at Addis Airport where she had to negotiate to be allowed to get us on our flight. She was bright and good company and got things done.
Jenni Shallard is an absolutely delightful lady who dedicated herself to the care and well-being of each of us.
She ensured that we were well informed on every occasion and that each occasion was memorable. So many new joys have been imprinted and will remain with me always.
Jenni’s facility to create and share new experiences is superb.
Jenni did very well; she is a great listener, showed lots of patience, has more than adequately met our expectations, and nothing appeared too much trouble for her. .Jenni has a very reassuring manner that I am sure is helpful to those with tour apprehensions.
Janet was very helpful, cheerful and competent and an asset to the smooth running of the Tour. Also friendly.
Importantly, having a friendly group that was very together, a good number of people rather than having a big group where factions can emerge. All the different animals that we came across, and the variety of flora that we were exposed to. The quality of the accommodation and the attitude of the guides, who appeared very invested in their work and promoting their place.
Excellent. Could easily do double the time. So much more to see… But I don’t think a lifetime would cover such a historic region
